Aurora Business Brokers Firm can introduce you to a valuation partner. Prepare the customer agreements, technician coverage and equipment records behind a commercial HVAC business sale.
Separate maintenance income from project income
A maintenance customer and a single installation project do not create the same earnings pattern. Show renewal history, service margin and backlog separately.
Explain who maintains the customer relationship. Buyers will test whether the revenue survives your departure and whether the team can deliver the contracted work.
Give the buyer a realistic replacement budget
Document your work in estimating, dispatch and technical supervision. Removing owner compensation without accounting for replacement work can overstate the cash available.
Review vehicles, tools and financed equipment alongside the balance sheet. Identify the debt that will be cleared from proceeds and the items excluded from the sale.
Make qualifications part of the closing plan
Ask the relevant licensing authorities and transaction counsel which approvals the buyer needs. A business sale does not by itself establish the buyer’s authority to perform every service.
Tie customer notices, employee training and the operating handoff to the agreed closing conditions. Avoid leaving an open ended support promise in a side conversation.
